Questions Every Puppy Owner Should Ask for Ear Cropping

Choosing an experienced veterinary team matters. If you are researching ear cropping for your puppy, here are some important questions to ask before scheduling a procedure. This will help you narrow down your choices of doctors and "vet" your surgeon. You should only have ears done under the care of a licensed veterinarian - with years of experience with YOUR particular breed. No "fly-by-night" operations or off site facilities (meaning cropping is done outside of a full service clinic or hospital.) You should get details of their surgical procedure, anesthesia, monitoring and pain protocol. We have seen frightening and troubling post-surgical results. No judgement! Just a warning... educate yourself and do your research. There are cases that come to us for reconstruction or corrective surgery. When and where Dr. Crowe can save and reshape the ear, she absolutely does.
