Corrective Ear Crop Surgery

Dr. Crowe also evaluates dogs needing corrective ear crop procedures or ears that have failed to stand after surgery elsewhere.

Corrective Ear Crop Surgery

Has your dog's ears failed to stand? Uneven ears or a disappointing result after surgery elsewhere doesn't always mean you're out of options.

Why Owners Seek Corrective Surgery

  • One ear stands while the other falls.
  • Uneven ear length or shape.
  • Ears that failed to stand.
  • Scar tissue after previous surgery.
  • Damage during healing.
  • Owners unhappy with the final appearance.

Sometimes It Isn't Anyone's Fault

Even when owners follow every posting instruction perfectly, ears don't always heal the same. Dr. Crowe sometimes evaluates dogs with damaged ear tissue from posts wrapped too tightly, littermate play, previous injury, scar tissue, infection, or simply ears that healed differently than expected.

TempoStay Surgical Implant

For carefully selected patients, Dr. Crowe may recommend the TempoStay surgical implant to provide additional internal support for ears that have failed to stand.

Not every dog is a candidate. Every patient receives an individual consultation to determine whether corrective surgery or TempoStay is appropriate.

Honest Expectations

Some ears can be improved dramatically. Others have limitations because of previous surgery, scar tissue, age, or permanent tissue damage. Dr. Crowe believes in honest expectations and will explain what is realistically possible before recommending treatment.

Schedule a Consultation

If your dog's ears were cropped elsewhere and you're wondering whether improvement is possible, we'd be happy to evaluate your dog and discuss your options.

40 year's experience cropping: Dobermans, Great Danes, Giant Schnauzers, Beaucerons, Pit Bulls, Boxers, Argentine Dogos, Cane Corsos. Show crops, pet crops, military crops.

Dr. Crowe likes to do the consult around 8 weeks or ideally as soon as you get your puppy. Weight should be less than 20 pounds (can be more on some breeds with shorter ears ike Pit Bulls, Cane Corso)

If you had an earcrop elsewhere and one or both of the ears failed to stand, your pet may be a candidate for TempoStay (a surgical support for ears that failed to stand)..

The surgery should be done in a vet's office or animal hospital. You should be able to meet your vet and request the style and length of cut you want. You should look for someone with MULTIPLE years of experience with your specific breed and they should be able to provide you with references from other ear crop clients as well as photos. Rely on your instincts... If something doesn't seem right or feel right, heed the warning. Dr. Crowe has had a couple of instances of "someone" stealing her website and social media images and creating fake pages and accounts. Yes, fake accounts have impersonated her and her surgical work: Know that Dr. Crowe NEVER travels to do ear crops and the price will NEVER be $200-(That would not even cover anesthesia, that is your first warning.) She only works at her surgery suite in her clinic (Creekside Veterinary Clinic, PA) in Goose Creek, SC, right outside of Charleston. We never collect deposits or payments over social media, whatsapp or cashapp.

CHOOSING CREEKSIDE AND DR. JAN CROWE

When you choose Creekside Vet Clinic for your dog's ear crop surgery, you'll work directly with Sharon, our Ear Crop Services Coordinator, and Dr. Jan Crowe throughout the entire process. During your consultation, Dr. Crowe will discuss ear style options, answer your questions, and help you choose the look that's right for your puppy. Traveling from out of town? We can often complete your consultation and pre-surgical lab work the same morning. We're also happy to provide references from previous ear crop clients. Your puppy's safety is our highest priority. During surgery, Dr. Crowe is assisted by experienced surgical technicians who continuously monitor heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and anesthesia. After surgery, every puppy receives one-on-one recovery care, complete with warm blankets, comfort, and close monitoring until it's time to go home. Unlike many high-volume providers, you'll meet your surgeon, participate in selecting your puppy's ear style, and receive personalized guidance throughout the healing and posting process. Dr. Crowe also evaluates dogs needing corrective ear crop surgery after procedures performed elsewhere. **Important:** Longer show crops, especially for Dobermans and Great Danes, should be performed at an early age while puppies are still within the appropriate weight range.

Have Questions About Pricing?

Every pet is unique, which means pricing can vary based on your pet's age, breed, weight and crop style. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all estimate, we're happy to provide accurate pricing and answer your questions.

TESTIMONIAL

Michelle, former technician for Dr. Crowe "I worked for Dr. Crowe and have done many crops with her. She is a wonderful veterinarian. She treats every patient with complete love, compassion and empathy. She is a perfectionist when it comes to her crops. She is also wonderful with the pups for follow up visits. She has also fixed some badly done jobs and they came out so much better. I trust her more than any other veterinarian I’ve worked for. Bottom line is if you want it done the right way, take your pup here."

TESTIMONIAL

FROM NICCOL P. "Had our pups ear cropping done today. The prices are affordable. Definitely better then what we would've spent on the West Coast. Facility is clean and safe. All employees were awesome, friendly, and very caring. Loki (our pup) loved everyone here. He was safely sedated, his surgery went very well, post op was perfect, pre op was perfect. Dr. Crowe and her team are excellent! A reviewer online complained about the prices of ear cropping at this facility. Ma'am, if you want quality care for your family pet, then pay a decent price to have that care done. The ear cropping is NOT the price you said - the cropping itself isn't the price you claimed. This price includes medications, check up, anesthesia, and everything else that's included when an animal or HUMAN has surgery. If you're looking for an extremely cheap price for your dogs ear cropping, then you should not own a pet. Cheap prices means cheap care. You pay for quality. Thank you!"

TESTIMONIAL

FROM MICHELLE K. "We drove 5 hours to see Dr. Crowe and her team after a traumatic experience with another vet left our Doberman puppy, Lucius, with severe ear complications. From the moment we walked into the clinic, we knew we were in the right hands. Dr. Crowe, along with Amanda, Sharon, and Alyssa, went above and beyond to care for Lucius not just physically, but emotionally too. They treated him like their own, and they treated us with the kindness, transparency, and professionalism we had been desperately hoping to find. Lucius' ears were in terrible shape when we arrived, and thanks to their expert care and dedication, they were able to save them and help them heal beautifully. This team didn't just fix a medical issue, they gave Lucius back his comfort and confidence, and gave us peace of mind. We are so grateful for their honesty, skill, and compassion. It's rare to find a veterinary team that blends expertise with genuine heart. We would make the drive all over again in a heartbeat. Every mile and hour was worth is! If you are looking for someone who truly cares and delivers, this is the place. I love each of them!"
